1973 Imperial, Engine 55-5

Engine five is a 1973 Imperial with a 1000 gallon per minute Waterous pump and 1000 gallons of water.  The engine has a Portable Honda gas generator to supply power to all of the scene lighting.  The engine has two 1 ¾ attack lines, 1000 feet of 4 inch Large Diameter Hose, 500 feet of 3 inch supply line, 200 feet of 1 inch forestry hose, and a 200 foot 1 inch booster reel.  The engine has a compliment of ladders, saws, and forestry tools as this is the last engine on the run card for structure fires and primarily is used as a second due engine for brush and forest fires.  Engine 5 was refurbished in 1985 by Swab and in 1999 by Fire Cab.  The unit was originally placed in service in 1973 and was the first piece of fire apparatus that was Safety Yellow.
