Assist Station 40 (Bowers) w/ Reported Building Fire - 7679 Bay Rd

At 1255 hours, Kent Center dispatched Stations 40 (Bowers), 49 (Frederica) and 55 (Magnolia) for a reported building fire at 7679 Bay Road. Engine 55-4 responded at 1300 hours with 3rd Assistant Chief Russell (55-19) and a crew of 5, followed shortly after by Tanker 55 with Ems LT. Jones (55-42) and a crew of 2. Engine 55-4 arrived on scene at 1304 hours as the first due engine, reporting nothing evident, with 55-19 establishing 55 Command. Tanker 55 arrived shortly afterwords, staging on the highway, followed by the Engine & Tanker from Station 49. Upon investigation, the crew from Engine 4 found an electrical outlet producing heat and an odor. The crew unplugged the appliance, and advised the day care manager to call their electrician. Command 55 placed the situation under control at 1309 hours, placing all 40, 49 and 55 fire apparatus in service. All 55 fire units were in quarters at 1316 hours.
