Thursday, February 11, 2010

On Thursday Morning February 11th at 0505 hrs, in the immediate aftermath of 2nd Blizzard, Station 55 was alerted for a Medical Emergency in a Vehicle on Woodlytown Rd. A-55, 55-8, 55-0 and KM 10A made the response. Crews found a motorist who had been Stranded over night, was overdue for medication and showing signs of complications as a result. Due to numerous snow drifts in the road, access to the Pateint could not be made by vehicles or our Snow plow. A crew navigated on foot at least a half mile, reached the patient and began initial treatment. After an attempt by a local resident using a backhoe proved lengthy, Trooper 4 was requested to remove the patient from the area. Trooper 4 heavy arrived and extracted the patient to nearby waiting EMS units. Units cleared the assignment at 0720 hrs.
