Tanker Company Assist - 3226 Barratts Chapel Road

At 1217 on December 29th Kent Center alerted Station 49 (Frederica) and Tanker Company 55 (Magnolia) for a reported structure fire. Engine 55-3 responded with 2nd Assistant Chief Rhodes and a crew of 5, followed by Tanker 55 with 3rd Assistant Chief Vautard and Chief Engineer Helton and Engine 55-4 with Deputy Chief Stratton and a crew of 7. Engine 49-1 arrived to find a two and half story dwelling with smoke showing from the second story. The crew pulled an 1 ¾ inch attack line and initiated an interior fire attack, finding the fire to be a room and contents. The crew from 55-3 arrived shortly after 49-1 and assisted with the initial fire attack and supplying water to 49-1. The initial attack line quickly extinguished the fire. Engine 55-4 arrived and assisted with overhaul while Tanker 55 staged on the road. Command 49 placed the situation under control at 1236, holding the units on scene. All 55 units were in quarters at 1304. Units responding: Engines 49-1, 49-2, 49-5, 55-3, 55-4, Tanker 55, Ambulance B49.
