Engine Assist with Company 41 for a Suspicious Package/Bomb - 977 Lochmeath Way

On January 14, 2011 Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to do a standby in station 41 at 1157 hours. Upon Engine 55-3 responding under the command of Assistant Chief Rhodes (55-18) they were requested by Command 41 to redirect to the scene to assist with a suspicious package/bomb. Engine 55-3 arrived on scene and was directed by command to wrap the hydrant and stand by until needed. The crew from 55-3 wrapped the hydrant and then alternated crews with Station 41 at the scene. The MVFC would like to thank the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company for the food and hospitality during the extended operation, as well was the Camden Chic-Fil-A, and the several civilians who brought food and coffee to the scene. All 55 units returned to quarters at 2324 hours. Units Responding: Engine 55-3, Rescue Engine 41-6, Ambulances B-41 and A-55, Delaware State Police (EOD Unit), Office of the State Fire Marshal, DNREC Hazmat, Delaware State Fire Police, DelDot, and Kent County Medics
