Assist Station 48 - House Fire - Peach Basket Rd, Felton
Tuesday, May 7, 2013

On Tuesday May 7, 2013 at 1348 hours Kent Center alerted stations 48 (Felton) and 55 (Magnolia) for a reported working house fire on the 1200 block of Peach Basket Rd in Felton. Peach Basket Rd command went on scene reporting the structure is fully-involved. Tanker 55(55-20) Rescue 55 (55-16) and A-55 made the response. Tanker company 41 (Camden-Wyoming) as well as ladder company 50 (Harrington) were also added to the assignment. Crews on scene faced heavy fire conditions as well as an unstable structure which had already suffered a wall collapse. A water shuttle was established to provide crews with a sufficient supply while operating without a hydrant. Command placed the scene under control at 1536 while holding units for overhaul. A-55 transported one patient to KGH where they were treated and released for non life-threatening injuries. We extend our thoughts and prayers to those effected. Units on scene: BLS A-48, Engine 48-4, Engine 48-2, Engine 48-5, Tanker 55, Rescue 55, BLS A-55, Tanker 41, Engine 41-4, Tower 50, Engine 50-5, Kent County Paramedics, Delaware State Fire Police, Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office, DELDOT
