Rescue 55 Responds to Assist Station 48 with a Double Entrapment - 579 Barratts Chapel Rd

At 2335 on January 9th, 2015 station 55 was alerted to assist station 48 (felton) with a motor vehicle accident with confirmed entrapment. Rescue 55 under the direction of Chief Rhodes (55-15) responded fully staffed. Upon arrival, command advised Rescue 55 to initiate extrication on the first vehicle. The crew from Rescue 55 complied along with the crew from Engine 48-4. Extrication took approximately thirty minutes due to the complexity of the mechanism of injury. During this time, the EMT from A55 as well as Kent County Paramedics assessed and monitored the patient. The scene was placed under control by Command 48 at 0023. Rescue 55 cleared the incident shortly after and was in quarters at 0052. Units on Scene: R55, A55, 48-17 (Command 48), 48-1, 48-4, KM7, KM5, KM8, A41, B48, Delaware State Police Aviation, Delaware State Police, Delaware State Fire Police, Delaware Department of Transportation: Traffic Management Division
