Mutual Aid to Felton for Basement Fire

While finishing up at the Motor Vehicle Collision on Irish Hill Rd, Magnolia firefighters were alerted on the initial dispatch to respond as the Tanker Company to Felton for a house fire. Rescue 55 and Engine 55-4 cleared the Motor Vehicle Collision and responded. Felton Fire Company Chief 48-15 arrived to find a one  story private dwelling with smoke showing from the eves. Rescue 55 arrived and assumed the first due engine assignment. Rescue 55's crew was informed of a fire in the basement and were given orders to stretch a attack line to the Charlie side of the dwelling. Upon advancing into the basement, no visible fire could be found however crews were met with a heavy smoke and heat condition. As units arrived on scene, they worked with the crew from Rescue 55 to open up the structure on the floors above to check for any possible fire extension. Units remained on scene for over an hour. The scene was turned over to the State Fire Marshal's office for investigation.
