Rescue 55 extinguishes fully involved auto
Friday, October 8, 2021
On October 8, 2021, the Magnolia Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire in the southbound lanes of Route 1, just north of Trapshooters Rd. Units responding were advised by Kent County 911 Communications Center that Delaware State Police was on scene with a fully involved van. Ambulance 55 was returning from Kent General Hospital and were able to respond and shut down the southbound lanes of Route 1 just before the incident to allow incoming units to access the scene quicker. Rescue 55 arrived, stretched the bumper line, and had the fire knocked down in approximately 5 minutes. Crews remained on scene after for overhaul. Little Creek's Squad 54 also assisted us on scene. There were no injuries and scene was turned over to Delaware State Police. All units were under the command of Captain Matt Stoltz.
