Magnolia firefighters responded to morning oven fire

Just before 8:00am, Magnolia firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in the 200 block of Viola Dr. in the Chestnut Ridge development. Units were met with a smoke condition in the house as a result of a oven fire. The oven was removed from the house and the house was ventilated. Units cleared a short time later. Captain Ryan Clarke held command.

It was learned that the homeowner had stowed kitchenware in the oven and forgot to remove them prior to hearing the oven up. Fortunately there was minimal damage, however we encourage everyone to avoid stowing kitchenware in your ovens to prevent these types of incidents.
