Structure Fire ~ 4410 Barratts Chapel Rd Frederica, DE

On the morning of February 3, 2017 at 0438 hours the Kent County 911 Center alerted the MVFC to assist Station 49 (Frederica) with a house fire. Engine 55-4 and tanker 55 made the response for the assist, and when arriving on scene Engine 55-4 laid 700 ft of 5 inch supply line up the driveway to aid in the supply of operations. Tanker 55 arrived shortly after and began supplying the water to extinguish the fire. Crews assisted with fire suppression and overhaul until structural integrity was compromised and crews were forced to evacuate the building. Operations then switched to a Defensive attack and crews began to remove the metal roofing to gain access to the attic where the fire was still burning.Crews operated for just over 3 hours before being released by command 49.

Station 55 Units: Tanker 55, Engine 55-4, Ambulance 55.

Station 49 Units: Tanker 49, Ladder 49, 49-2, Ambulance 49

Station 40 Units; Quint 40.
