Fuel Leak requires assistance from Hazmat 57
Wednesday, September 1, 2021

On September 1, 2021, the Magnolia Fire Company responded to an outside gas leak on Captain Davis Dr. When firefighters arrived, it was determined that a vehicle had leaked approximately 25 gallons of fríelo which had already spread to nearby grass as well as a neighbor's driveway. DNREC and Hazmat 57 also responded to assist with fuel containment. Crews laid absorbent on the driveway affected as well as hazmat booms to prevent the possibility of any leftover fuel spreading. The scene was turned over to DNREC who will continue to take care of the contaminated area of grass. All units were on scene for a little over an hour and were under the command of Capt. Matt Stoltz.

We would like to thank the South Bowers Fire Company for providing assistance with containment with their Hazmat trailer.
