Magnolia assists Station 49 with a Working Fire
Thursday, January 6, 2022

On January 6, 2022, the Magnolia Fire Company as well as neighboring companies battled a house fire in Station 49's first due area.

Just before 1:00pm, Station 49, Engine Company 55, and Rescue Company 40 were dispatched to the 500 block of Otter Way for a house fire. While enroute, units were receiving reports that a neighbor called reporting hearing a boom followed by seeing their neighbor's house was on fire, and possibly someone was still in the house. Units arrived to find a two story home with an attached garage well involved and extension into the second floor. Multiple lines were used to knock down the fire which took over an hour to control. Searches for the reported trapped occupant proved to be negative. Crews on scene faced structural deteriation forcing evacuation of the structural several times. In total, crews were on scene for a little over two hours.

Station cover ups were handled by Little Creek, South Bowers, and Houston who was later brought into the scene. Camden-Wyoming Squad 41 also assisted on scene. The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal's office for further investigation.
