J. Ralph McIlvaine (b. 1893, d. 1969) was a founding member of the Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. Mr. McIlvaine was a teacher and principal at the Magnolia Elementary School from 1919-1964. The school was renamed to McIlvaine Elementary School in 1970, and then again to McIlvaine Early Childhood Center in 2009.
