Walter was the only Barber in Magnolia for many years. The shop was located next to the first Fire House (now the Town Hall) and across the street from the current Fire House. Every day at 12:00 p.m. he would walk across the street from his Barber Shop and sound the fire siren at high noon. He did this from 1950 until April 1973 when Kent Center was activated.
